9. Town covered by fallen clouds

I woke up to the ringing of my alarm on my phone. I dismissed the alarm with a frowny and sleepy face as it was the first day of my second semester after a week of vacation. I was on my bed when I saw the window was very dark. 'Is it already 9 A.M, or am I tripping?' I rechecked the time on my phone. I heard many voices and chaos from outside. 'Mostly, all my siblings would've been in school by that time, so what's going on,' I thought.

I got up from my bed. My house was empty, I looked through the balcony to see dark greyish sheets, which looked like clouds were covered on the roofs of every house, and my vision could go through. It looked disastrous and a bit creepy to me. Like the sky had fallen down. Soon, my T.V. switched on and the news channel went by that 'škoda' [a car brand I thought], was actually, a natural condition where the Star's of the universe came closer to earth and its warmth and high temperature affects the clouds's strength and darkens its colour. Scientifically, dark clouds imply the heavy weight of the clouds, but here, the context here is that clouds are melting. The clouds release gravitational force, accumulating them to come down to earth. Do you know what happens when a candy floss loses its hairy light texture? A sticky small substance.

As said before, some clouds darkened and melted on accumulated on the roofs, but some turned out sticky, and their material was now equivalent to a candy floss. The clouds were gradually losing that light texture of theirs and converted into a highly sticky transparent substance like a giant troll's snort or a giant spider's sticky web.

I was quite afraid of the surroundings, but something struck my mind, 'at least college would be off for today!' I shrieked in excitement, going back to my room. I heard my siblings coming back from school, and my mum had also come back, perhaps after picking them back. They had declared holidays due to this condition going on in the town. There was a lot of chaos going around the city. I still wondered why it affected only our city and not the whole planet. That didn't make sense. The sticky substance ruined people's vehicles, their water tankers on the roofs, and had created many problems for the residents. Many weren't able to walk or drive vehicles as the grounds were sticky. They were trying to get rid of these sticky substances by cleaning or burning it. The scenario was quite terrifying. Our parents told us it used to happen in the olden times, but it eventually stopped due to advanced technology.

My sister replied, 'We never knew such a thing existed, like falling down of clouds.'

And all of us agreed. In conclusion, I had sort of mixed feelings about the surroundings and went back to sleep. But, strangely, the alarm rang again.

I saw the time was still 9 A.M.
